KORE's Initiatives
Haiti has an 80% unemployment rate, with 80% of rural Haiti earning less than $2.00 a day. 85% of the population are directly dependent on farming. Yet Haiti remains the most underdeveloped in the Western hemisphere. We can create fundamental and lasting economic change in the lives of rural farming families and communities in Haiti by generating income opportunities, increasing access to locally produced foods, and shifting the current model of feeding programs to consider Haitian farmers as part of the solution.
KORE addresses the immediate needs of malnourished children by adding chicken and eggs to their diets, helps Haitian farmers become self-sufficient, and responds to opportunities to present the Gospel message through their community.
Feed Children
HOPE FOR TODAY
KORE addresses the immediate needs of malnourished children by adding chicken and eggs to their diets. The poultry is purchased from KORE small holder farmers, supporting their businesses and building the local economy. This approach helps Haitian farmers become self-sufficient while providing nutrient-rich foods for malnourished children.
Create Jobs
HOPE FOR TOMORROW
KORE provides resources, training and ongoing extension services to a family or individual allowing them to build an egg or chicken business. Farmers are able to support their families through their increase in income.
Hatch Hope
HOPE FOR ETERNITY
Our campus pastor directs discipleship training for small holder families and responds to opportunities to present the Gospel message through their community relationships. In cooperation with partner organizations and the Feeding Program recipients, KORE has designed outreach opportunities to share the Gospel in communities where we minister.
KORE Foundation also works to solve problems as need arises such as disaster relief and improvements for Haiti’s aging population.
